HY 11 Free Ski Touring Bindings

The Hy 11 Free from ATK takes freeride bindings to a whole new level – as the lightest hybrid binding in its class, it combines downhill performance with maximum walking comfort. Weighing just 675 grams and featuring three cleverly graduated walking modes, it provides support on long ascents and delivers an alpine skiing experience on the descent.

A highlight is the -18 mm mode, in which the heel drops slightly below the level of the front jaw. This innovative step angle improves walking efficiency, particularly on flat sections, which is a noticeable advantage with freeride boots that have a limited shaft angle. Two additional climbing aids (+10 mm and +42 mm) can be conveniently operated with a ski pole, allowing flexible adaptation to the terrain.

In descent mode, the Hy 11 impresses with a flat, direct stance on the ski. This creates direct power transfer, significantly enhancing precise handling and control. The heel clamp is inspired by the alpine system and provides a noticeable degree of stability and safety in technically demanding terrain.

The adjustable AFD (Anti-Friction Device) is also well thought-out down to the last detail, ensuring compatibility with different boot soles. Softer spacers reduce vibration and improve contact with the ski. The 25 mm boot length adjustment and elastic travel at the heel and front jaw further increase tolerance and durability under dynamic loads.

From steep couloirs to long ascents – this binding is designed for tours that combine a freeride feel with touring functionality.
